" This meeting is in the middle of the week, and in the middle of the day. Really right when school gets out. I am sure it was hard enough to get a date, but if it was in the evening there would be a better turn out. I am very concerned about this issue. I work at this time, as I am sure most everyone does. could the time be changed? "

" Nice time for the meeting.. I figure its when the cops are on duty, so they are getting paid. But the rest of us would have to take the time off for it.. What a joke. "

" Agreed. This is a serious issue that demands public input.

Contact your (or any) representative with a request for schedule change of meeting OR addition of second meeting to be held after business hours.

ha-ha We can sure tell. Thanks for scheduling this meeting on a day and at a time that pretty much anyone with half a brain (Most working Americans) won't be able to attend and offer that much needed input you are supposedly looking for. "

" BOS and City Councils are sponsoring the event -- they're probably putting it at a time convenient for them. I doubt it's centered around law enforcement's schedule -- they work 24/7. It's definitely a bizarre schedule. "

" elb, your clients are not my problem, or anyone else's. It's about choices and priorities. We all make them and live with the decision. You make whatever choice you want, just deal with it and don't cry about it. Either make the time or not, the choice is completely up to you. "

NapaCA wrote on Nov 3, 2008 10:45 AM:

" To add to the incredibly poorly timed meeting, I see the Register has dropped the notice from the top of the website to the last item under 'most commented/read'.

So, not only will meeting attendance suffer from the lack of working people able to attend, but it is likely that folks who rely on the Register's website won't see it at all!

Register, you have an obligation to inform and serve your public. This notice is far more important to the quality of life in Napa than hard times falling on the sanitation district ~'NSD feels market pinch'~. "

" I agree with the majority, 3 days before, they call a meeting in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week.
Not much time for the average working person to arrange time off.
Maybe it was convenient for the people that OUR taxes pay their salaries?
Some commenter wrote "Whiners" "your clients are not my problem, or anyone else's"
Nice attitude!
Maybe your one of the few unique working people that can walk away from work, picking up your kids or getting a sitter? I guess your fellow man is "not your problem'?
That's one of the reasons we got to this gang problem:
People thinking, "Not my problem" "

" I emailed all five supervisors requesting they reschedule the meeting to accommodate working folk.

Not one responded. "
