Dear editor, I would like to commend Gary Simpson on his strong leadership in this community. I followed his career as county sheriff and was always impressed by his professionalism, common sense and forward thinking. I know Gary will bring those same qualities to the board of supervisors. He will be a great representative for us.

His resume is chock-full of programs created to help this county, though as someone dedicated to protecting children I was extremely impressed by Gary’s hard work and determination to create the Sheriff’s Activity League. This program reached out to hundreds of at-risk youth and demonstrated that he is in touch with what this county needs and that he knows how to address the local issues.
I also really appreciate that he will be donating his salary to local charities. This is an important point and shows that he is in this race not for himself, but for us. Gary is who we need on the board of supervisors.
