" There is no one set solution, or we would have done it here in Napa. Homelessness is caused for so many different reasons. It must be handled on a case by case basis. Napa is on the right track with the best services around, but its nice to know if you lose a place your not just kicked to the streets. In Napa theres help and other options to get you back on track.

" I dont mind the homeless people in Napa, the only problem i have is i heard the register had made an article a while back on how some apartment complexes did not have recycling and vinyard terrace was one of them. They said they didnt because it would bring homeless people digging through it. Well i live there and everyday and night i watch as at least 5 of them come to my recycling bin. If they could respect our homes and spaces than they deserve somewhere safe for winter but as long as i see them living in my garbage can and not respecting me than why try and help them. "

" SOME of the homeless people DO choose to live this way, rejecting offer from the shelters that do exist because they cannot do their drugs, drink alcohol or have sex. There are strict rules to comply with using the shelters and getting a hot meal and they CHOOSE not to live in that manner. Not all, but some.
I am not sure what to do since they can not all be lumped into one category. I feel bad for homeless people but most people work for their luxuries of home, food, car, etc. It would be difficult to get a fresh start after being homeless, but some people seem to do it w/ determination. I do not mind donating food and blankets, clothing, but you can't select who it goes to... "
