NoonJeff Flanders of Napa held off a big pack of online players to take top honors in Week No. 8 of NapaValleyRegister.com’s weekly pro football pool.

Flanders, using the screen name c5ned, had 12 winners for the week, using his prediction in the Giants/Steelers game to break a tie with Ed Mercer (ecm532) of Placentia — who placed in the top-5 many times last season — and Jon Bowman (footfan) of Napa to secure first place. Mercer’s tiebreaker guess placed his second, with Bowman in third.
A huge pack of 17 players were ties with 11 wins, with the tiebreaker guess of the final score in the Giants/Steelers game used to sort out that pack also.

Kendall Hillman (Old9erFan) of Napa came out atop the pack with 11 wins, giving Hillman 4th place for the week, with Z.D. (DASTEELERS) from Union City taking fifth. Place among the 364 players on the Web site
In the overall standings, gooddoc13 (81 wins) is a game up on scully (80 wins), while the 79 wins for malantiger, Maglon and mtskinny have them tied for 3rd place, with this week’s winner c5ned and smythm both having 78 wins, good for a tie for 6th place overall. Budman65 and edlank5 have 77 wins each, tied for 8th place.

The overall winner, the regular season winner, and the winner of the survivor game all receive trophies from Doc’s Trophy Shoppe in Napa.
