Out of step with the public

Dear editor, It was with utter disbelief that I read your editorial endorsing John McCain. I keep hearing this “experience” argument for McCain but what is happening now is far more relevant to how McCain would serve in office.

McCain’s first decision as the nominee of the GOP was to pick the least qualified woman serving in office who is so far to the right that she endorses aerial slaughter of our precious wildlife. His policies, which 90 percent of the time align with the Bush Administration, have done possibly irreparable damage to financial markets allowing them to go unmonitored to the point of a meltdown.
After saying that he was going to run a positive campaign, he immediately went on the attack spewing lies about the bridge to nowhere. His commercials have the undertones of racism.

His cronies and campaign direction are led by the very lobbyists he decries in his speeches about reforming Washington. McCain himself says he’s no economist.
In a classic drama-queen move, McCain “suspended” his campaign to fix the crisis in Washington for a rescue package. As far as the eye could see, all he did was get in the way. His erratic behavior surrounding the financial crisis shows a classic lack of judgment and “cool under fire” that you would expect from the nation’s leader.

John McCain portrays himself as a man of the people. My question is, in which of his seven homes does he feel most “blue collar?”
As a lifelong Republican, I am apologetic for the last eight years and I am embarrassed that all the GOP could put up is a politician who is out of step with the public and the beauty queen he calls his running mate.

" Well said , John, I too am embarassed , especially for the whole world to be watching this fiasco.. What must they be thinking of the American people's judgement ? Someone told me they had traveled in Europe just after the last election and Europeons were asking how we could vote for Bush the second time? What will they think if these 2 get in office?? "
