McCain endorsement missed the mark

Dear editor, The fact that the Democrats are in the majority should not affect whether or not a newspaper endorses a candidate of a particular party. However, endorsing Mr. McCain in these circumstances is very disappointing. His candidacy is erratic to say the least, and his choice of vice president reflects very poorly on his judgment and decision-making capabilities. What Mr. McCain has “proven” is that he is not the person to lead us out of this morass, but rather is someone who is committed to more of the same.

If the Register is uncomfortable with Obama for the very inadequate reasons stated in the editorial, there is always the option of silence.
