McCain and the bully within

Dear editor, I watched the second presidential debate and what may have gone unnoticed really rang out to me loud and clear. Sen. McCain referred to Sen. Obama as “that one.” To me this was an egregious lack of respect for an elected official of the United States, a lack of common sensibility and an appearance of ignorance of common decency.

Why would Sen. McCain speak in such a manner? Has deep-seated anger come to the surface in lack of controlled speech? Is this type of disrespect a predecessor to dementia? Could the lack of respect be racially motivated? These are questions that need to be carefully looked at.
McCain’s past reveals a man who quickly flies off the handle. At a time when diplomacy and clear thinking are essential, we certainly don’t need the likes of this potential “time bomb” at the “helm of our ship of state.” I’m sure that if we scrutinize the manner in which he phrases himself, the expressions and gestures common to his manner we will unearth the bully within.

" So it's OK for Oprah to call Obama 'the one' but wrong for McCain to refer to Obama as 'that one'. I understand now. The problem is not one of rudeness or bullying (hard to find any of that in the words 'that one'). It is a problem of not being respectful of the ego driven self appointed messiah who will lead us out of the desert.

More like out of the frying pan and into the fire. "

" Yes, we know than John McCain is human and we know all about him and his experience.

Just when are we going to find out what Obama has done, what is his experience? "

" The Obama supporters are still waiting for the evidence you have that shows he was lying. McCain is the one making false accusations about Obama. Some of you are just foolish enough to believe it. Obama has given answers to the questions asked of him.

By the way, when can Palin give a press conference? I'm tired of listening to the same script over and over. "

" 'Obama has given answers to the questions asked of him.' Is that an SNL straight line leading to a joke?

I missed Obama's truthful answer about Ayers. Oh wait - there hasn't been one yet, has there? "

PlasticPinkFlamingo wrote on Oct 17, 2008 12:07 PM:

" We are also waiting for Obama's answers as to who helped get him into Columbia and Harvard, and who paid for it. Among a few other answers.

'Obama has given answers to the questions asked of him.' ??? Questioning the messiah (and expecting truthful answers) obviously invokes the wrath of the faithful, which they use to obfuscate the issues, and perpetrate Obama's fraud on the middle class. "

" PPF: just how many times does BO have to explain himself? I know we are watching the same debates, and If I get it, why can't you? You, majrlusr, Freeport and Dwayne just REFUSE to listen.

Personally, I'd like to hear more about johnnie and the Keating five and G. Gordon Liddy. There is a whole lot there. Maybe you can fill me in? "

" PPF, you really need to check out Factcheck. It confirms that everything Obama said about his relationship with Ayers is correct.

Obama paid for college like anyone else, scholarships and student loans. He paid off his loans through revenue from his books.

It's not my fault or Obama's fault that you don't want to believe the truth. "

As long as the so-called "facts" fit the left agenda, they will always deny bias...

The name itself, factcheck.org, gives plausible deniability to twisting the "facts" bent on fitting the mold...

I hope you saw the story on Drudge about Farrakhan saying there's now a 'New Beginning' For Nation of Islam in this country... Hold on to your hat, it's going to be quite a ride, made up facts and all..... "

" Annenberg Public Policy Center -- organization founded/funded by a conservative whose widow has endorsed McCain.

Those Republicans on the board along with Ayers -- is their integrity being questioned by this movement to vilify Obama? When are those others going to terrorize the U.S. the way Obama is purportedly planning to do?
"It was never a concern by any of us in the Chicago school reform movement that he [Ayers] had led a fugitive life years earlier ... It's ridiculous," says Republican representative Diana Nelson. "There is no reason at all to smear Barack Obama with this association. It's nonsensical, and it just makes me crazy. It's so silly."

At lease some good Republicans still have their heads on their shoulders, instead of up where the sun don't shine like those of our own Napa citizens we hear from so often and so repetitively. The country has had enough of intellectual and emotional terrorism. My brain feels like a pincushion. My heart screams. "

" Want to talk about the truth, Republicans? Let's talk about the truth.

Do you know who's running McCain's campaign? Charlie Black is McCain's advisor. He also has Karl Rove as an advisor. These are the same people who attacked McCain and made up lies (including that McCain had fathered a black child out of wedlock, that his wife Cindy was a drug addict, that he was a homosexual, and that he was a "Manchurian Candidate" who was either a traitor or mentally unstable from his North Vietnam POW days.) in 2000 during the primaries in which Bush ran against McCain for the Republican nomination.

Do you know what Charlie Black thinks?
The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an "unfortunate event," says Black. "But his knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us." As would, Black concedes with startling candor after we raise the issue, another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. "Certainly it would be a big advantage to him," says Black.

How can you continue to believe a candidate and his advisors when they have been known to lie in the past? It's funny that you believed they were lying then, but they aren't lying now. Maybe they weren't lying then and they're not lying now. Could that be it?

One last thing. Some of you like to bring up Biden's Presidential run and say that he's a bad choice for President so how can he be a good choice for VP? Well let's look at McCain. He ran against who is now one of the most hated Presidents in our history, and he lost. Using your logic, that means he's worse than the hated George W. No thanks! "

" Ummm…. ‘fact check’….a Soros funded partisan version of Democrat facts…now that’s a good source if partisanship means as much to you as the continuing ruin of our country from the multiple core Democrat policy failures….‘fact check’ serves such objectives well.

I will say this….Democrats will money from wherever they can steal it…including Soros, a convicted felon wanted in France and barred from returning to Russia…perhaps like many Democrats after the FBI completes the announced investigation into the financial melt down….assuming the FBI delves into the cause Freddie and Fannie, dozens of Democrats are heading for the Big House….with just a little luck Pelosi, Reid and Barney will be among them.

For some, I think, Obama’s actions and words speak much loader than his recent convenient denials….Obama toured with Ayers on the speaking circuit attempting to radicalize those yet to understand the world around them, Obama, unless he resigned in the last few weeks, remains a Board Member on Ayers phony not for profit nonpartisan 527, you know like ACRON nonpartisan and Ayers likely wrote his books since Obama‘s writing skills are right up their with Gomer Pyle…those who have read ‘Obama’ own hand are left with little doubt regarding his allegiances to Islam and radical Afro-centric “Churches”…but then again…’some people can be fooled all of the time…’ "
