The public is invited to a behind-the-scenes tour Thursday of Henry Michalski’s collection of presidential campaign memorabilia at the Napa County Historical Society.

Buttons, banners, drinking cups — even a deck of Barack Obama playing cards — will be on display at the historical society in the Goodman Library, 1219 First St., through the November election.
Thursday’s free opening reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wine and cheese will be offered for refreshment.

Michalski, a retired Napa High School history teacher, will talk about his collection, which covers a century and a half of presidential campaigns.
The exhibit is open daily, Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. Arrangements can be made for Michalski to make presentations to school groups.

" This exhibit sounds interesting, and while on the subject don't forget that no political pins, banners or clothing can be taken or worn to the polling stations in November. You will not be allowed to vote unless you go and change and come back again. "

" It is a fabulous collection. A while back he had them exhibited at the Library. Everyone enjoyed the show. "

" I especially liked the Obama button with the picture of Idaho Senator Larry Craig. A fabulous collection to see. "
