TCA Volleyball Club clinics set at Napa High
The TCA Volleyball Club is offering Sunday clinics at Napa High School, 2475 Jefferson St., on Oct. 12, 19 and 26.
Sessions for the “Wanna-Beez” (grades 2-5) and “Beginners” (grades 6-8 and first-year players in high school) groups will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $25 per clinic.
Sessions for the “Advanced” group (high school players with club experience) will be from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Cost is $30 per clinic.
The club says both staff and participants work hard at the clinics to develop an aggressive style of play, where mistakes are OK as long as players improve.
Fundamental skills such as spiking, jump serving and proper footwork are covered. In seven years, TCA has gone from a small four-team club in Southern California to a nationwide club located in eight cities. It has spots on all of its teams, which include the 10-, 12-, 13-, 14-, 15- and 16-and-under age levels.
TCA Volleyball is headed by Neil Mason, recently honored as the 2006 Developmental Coach of the Year by the U.S. Olympic Committee.
