From what we have seen of her, she appears to be not terribly curious about the world, not well informed and not well read, besides having a sarcastic and vicious streak in her. The report just released on her abuse of power in having tried to have her ex brother in law fired shows it as fact. "

quote:
"Speaking as an individual and not for her organization, Shelley Mandell, who is the President of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women and a self-described lifelong Democrat, has endorsed Sarah Palin.
At a rally in California today, in front of a crowd of 20,000, Shelly Mandell introduced Palin and she had a lot of VERY good things to say about her.
From CBS
“I know Sarah Palin cares about women’s rights,” Mandell said. “As vice president, she will fight for you. She cares about our children and she cares about women’s lives.”
And then, as she handed over the microphone to Sarah Palin, Mandell said;
“this is what a feminist looks like“
Palin took the stage, thanked Mandell and quoted her Starbucks cup from earlier in the day. Apparently it had a saying from Madeline Albright on the side. And so Palin started off with this…
“‘There’s a place hell reserved for women who don’t support other women,’ ” Palin quoted. “Let’s see how that comment is turned into whatever it’s turned into in tomorrow’s papers.”
How amazingly brave and wonderful is that!
Bravo Ms. Mandell, Bravo Ms. Palin.
NOW needs to be turned on it’s ear!" unquote
Well, how much you want to bet Shelly Madell goes the same way Tammy Bruce did? I have a feeling Shelly will not be with NOW much longer. NOW showed their true colors when they ousted Tammy Bruce for speaking out against Clinton and the whole Lewinski debacle. I doubt they will react any differently to this. Can't have uppity feminists now, can we? There is nothing so terrible as a lefty feminist scorned.... "

"A member and officer of the Los Angeles NOW chapter, Shelly Mandell, recently introduced Governor Sarah Palin at an event in Carson, California. Ms. Mandell was speaking as an individual and was not authorized to represent NOW, the NOW PAC or LA NOW in any capacity in connection with a federal candidate endorsement. As NOW President Kim Gandy said upon Palin's selection, "Not every woman supports women's rights." The use of Shelly Mandell's Los Angeles NOW title was apparently intended to mislead the public, and indeed has resulted in local television outlets and internet reports misstating that LA NOW has "endorsed" Sarah Palin or that she has a record of supporting women's rights. This in fact is not the case.
As President of California NOW and as a member and officer of Los Angeles NOW, I can assure you that there is no local or state affiliate of NOW, including LA NOW, which endorses or supports the McCain/Palin ticket. "

"Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaskan Statute 39.53.110 which states 'The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is in violation of that trust'

I don't blame him, as I am just the same. He is a smart man and had the sense to long ago give up on the attempt to keep me in my place. I decide where my place is, and it seems so does Todd Palin.
Getting your spouse to behave as you see fit......Now that would be a nice trick.

We are talking about the 2nd highest office in this country. Poor Sarah can't "rein in" her husband? How is she going to be tough on anybody else on the world stage. Suddenly it's "oh well my husband gets testy." Todd is not running for office. He doesn't get to call the shots as he sees fit when it comes to running the country.
"Now I don't know about the rest of you men out there, but my husband gets a little testy anytime I try (sic) "Rein" him in. When I say quiet...he gets louder...when I say stop...he goes."
And she is being sold to us as a leader and courageous person who can stand up against the system...apparently she can't stand up to her husband. Poor little lady. You can't play it both ways - tough woman who is a leader but at home her own kid and husband don't listen to her. Abstinence? She couldn't sell that theory to her own child but that's what the country is supposed to live under. Todd- stay out of it... Todd isn't "reined in" so she pays the price. Her own family doesn't ;isten to her apparently. Why should we?
Check Please. I'm going to be ill....... "

Cut.
"In the report, the independent investigator, Stephen E. Branchflower, a former prosecutor in Anchorage, said that Ms. Palin wrongfully allowed her husband, Todd, to use state resources as part of the effort to have Trooper Wooten dismissed.
The report says she knowingly "permitted Todd Palin to use the governor's office and the resources of the governor's office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired."
Further, it says, she "knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda."
Here's how we know how hypocritical, and without ethics of any kind the extreme right wingers who inhabit this site are.
If someone named Clinton, Biden or Obama had done something like this, they would be calling for their heads and would be saying how power hungry and vicious the left is as they abused their powers of office.
Of course, that would mean that they are not hypocritical. "

Republicans have a tendency to use the old Karl Rove trick of accusing the other party and candidates of engaging in the very tactics they use to win at any cost, all the time denying what is patently evident to anyone with eyes, ears and a brain.
Americans are finally waking up, however; except perhaps those who still attend the McCain/Palin rallys. For some, I'm afraid, there's no hope. "

Newsweek 10/11/08, states:
"A new Alaska legislative report finding that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power and violated state ethics laws spells new trouble for the McCain campaign . . . Special counsel Steve Branchflower's report could lead to fines or legislative action to censure Palin . . . Some weeks ago, the McCain team devised a plan to have Palin file an ethics complaint against herself with the State Personnel Board, arguing that it alone was capable of conducting a fair, nonpartisan inquiry . . . Some Democrats ridiculed the move, noting that the personnel board answered to Palin. But the board ended up hiring an aggressive Anchorage trial lawyer, Timothy Petumenos, as an independent counsel. McCain aides were chagrined to discover that Petumenos was a Democrat who had contributed to Palin's 2006 opponent for governor, Tony Knowles. Palin is now scheduled to be questioned next week, and the counsel's report could be released soon after. "We took a gamble when we went to the personnel board," said a McCain aide who asked not to be identified. While the McCain camp still insists Palin "has nothing to hide," it acknowledges a critical finding by Petumenos would be even harder to dismiss. "

Sickening what has become of this 'election.'
Can't run on the issues? Well just Fear and Smear and incite crowds to want to kill. Way to go Sarah, way to make history in American political discourse.
Oh, and I have been married for 19 wonderful years to a strong independent lady who has the brains to know when to exercise prudence and judgement. Unlike your token hockey mom who's been sent to do McCain's dirty work.
Betcha he doesn't have the guts to call Obama a terrorist to his face in the next debate....he'll be hiding behind Palin's skirt. "

Reagan even spoke about liberalism = socialism. He brought to light that America as a whole would dismiss any major concepts labeled under the term socialism. Change the word from SOCIALISM to LIBERALISM and people would flock to it. When he said this he was talking mainly about universal healthcare. The left loves to deny that socialism and even communism are alive and well here in the USA. But just look into political parties and groups including the GREEN PARTY, DEMOCRAT party, and even some in the REPUBLICAN party and the regrouping of SDS, and you will see I am right. A disturbing part of this TRUTH is that the left doesnt even care. "
