Kelley’s No Bad Days Café, at 976 Pearl St., is serving breakfast and brunch, Wednesdays through Sundays, 8-11:30 a.m.  Eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, french toast, pancakes and more, Kelley is doing it all.

And while the early bird rarely catches the worm or anything else at No Bad Days, come in between 8 and 9 and, as Kelley says, “drink free coffee ‘till you drop” with your breakfast.  If that isn’t incentive enough, you can also drink free coffee if you walk, ride a bike or drive a hybrid to the restaurant. Kelley’s boasts of being green, having an organic garden, raising their own eggs and vegetables, shopping locally, sustainability, recycling and composting regularly.  Kelley’s is a fun, quirky, one-of-a-kind place, and the food is terrific.  Enjoy your breakfast.
25 and counting

When a health club celebrates 25 years, you know they are doing something right.  In this case, new Exertec owner Tad Fuller says they are doing at least three things right:  Exertec offers a full range of exercise and nutrition options, dues are very reasonably priced, and they have a great staff. That’s a winning formula.
Dr. LeRoy Moore opened Exertec in 1983 in the old Lincoln Elementary School site (now home to New Tech High) as an extension of his corporate wellness program.  Fuller, a physical education major at Pacific Union College, did an internship there.  He liked them and they liked him. When he graduated in ‘93, he went to work for Exertec as a personal trainer and front desk person. He kept taking on responsibility, and when the club moved to it’s current location at 1500 First St. (enter from the Clay Street side near the Clay Street garage), Fuller became the general manager.  Dr. Moore decided to become “even more” retired (he’s been doing it gradually,) and recently sold to Fuller.

Fuller said that while exercise is important, it’s all about balance, which includes good nutrition. Exertec offers several programs designed to address food. The place has a relaxed “everybody knows your name” feel to it. Pick up the phone and call. 226-1842.
Hit the trail

Or the river… Napa Valley Adventure Tours has opened up in the Oxbow Public Market. Lead by Paul Hendricks, who’s been involved in adventure tourism for 15 years, these folks offer a variety of ways to see and experience the valley, whether by bike, kayak or hiking. Their tours, self guided or with a leader, run the gamut — make it easy on yourself, enjoying a relaxing day; or get out there and work a little harder. This is a chance to see the valley from outside your car in a safe environment. It’s also the only place in town to rent kayaks. Launch them right there, or rent an easy-to-mount rack and take them to Lake Hennessey. If you haven’t seen the Napa River in a kayak, well, you haven’t really seen it. Visit  www.napavalleyadventuretours.com, or call them at 259-1833.

See you downtown!
