Lee Broad of Napa received City Council approval this week for a 14-estate home subdivision on a 10-acre property in Browns Valley.

The Hollow, located on the south side of Browns Valley Creek, will be accessed over a private bridge at 3129 Browns Valley Road, east of Browns Valley Market.
The project will require the removal of a house and a barn from the 1890s that had been so altered as to not qualify for landmark protection, city staff said. A second barn from the early 20th century will also be taken down.

Neighbors did not protest the project.

" Maybe some of those who benefited from the bailouts, you know, those folks over at AIG who just came back from their retreat? Those guys? Maybe NOW they can afford a nice getaway home in the Napa Valley, you know, a nice new home in Browns Valley.

Good for them! "

" Let the complaining commence! For the record, I think this will prove to be a pleasant and successful development. "

" Neighbors did not protest, because we knew it would be a waste of breath and time to do so.

I Hate that Elmer's house is going to be demolished. The two old barns will be missed as well.

well, hurrah for greed. "

" 10 acres being developed and none of it allocated to low-income houseing? How in the world does that happen? "
