Openings on Napa commissions

The city of Napa is soliciting applications for upcoming openings on the Planning Commission, Tree Advisory Commission and Disability Access Board of Appeals.

Planning commissioners, who serve two-year terms, are responsible for the implementation of the city’s General Plan and the physical development of the city. There are two positions to be filled.
The Tree Advisory Commission advises the City Council on all issues related to trees. Candidates should have training or experience in the fields of horticulture, arboriculture or urban planning. Residents who live outside the city limits are eligible. There are four openings.

Candidates for the Disability Access Board of Appeal must be physically handicapped. Two positions are available
Applications, which are available from the City Clerk or the city’s Web site, are due Oct. 27.Register

" Isn't the Napa City budget looking for money right now? From what I hear they are having trouble acquiring bond money. So wouldn't you think they should be cutting back jobs. Why do we need 4 people working at a Tree Advisory Commission? The money should be going towards the schools and teachers, we need to start cutting back these frivolous city government jobs and start saving money for situations like the current one. "

" The City would not have funds in its budget for schools The Commission and Board members are probably not paid. If you think the schools need more money then donate some. "
