A 10-year-old boy who wandered off from his Vallejo elementary school was found Wednesday night by American Canyon Police and reunited with his parents.

The boy went missing after leaving a classroom at Dan Mini Elementary School in Vallejo around 11:20 a.m., Wednesday, to use a restroom, according to an Associated Press report.
Shortly after 8 p.m., American Canyon police officer Kyle Eddleman noticed a young boy walking south on Highway 29 at Kimberly Drive, and stopped to talk to the boy, said American Canyon Police Chief Brian Banducci.

Banducci said the boy told Eddleman that he had run away from school earlier in the day and was looking for his family when he was found more than a mile from the school.
“We confirmed he was missing from a Vallejo elementary school and contacted Vallejo P.D.,” said Banducci, adding Vallejo’s police reunited the boy with his family. “I have no idea how he got to Southbound 29 at Kimberly.”

" Okay, so who had the boy and why? A ten year old boy doesn't just wander off for the sake of wandering off. There has to be a lot more to this story folks. "

" Ummmm......Way not Cool here. What the heck happened to this kid from when...about 11 am.......until 8 pm??? What the HUH?
Something ....lots of something isn't in this article here. Too many what's and why's left in the open.
I hope he is alright and whatever the problem that caused him to leave the school....or how ever the story goes....gets resolved. "

" Well, it looks like the story has been updated since I first posted. "ran away from school" eh? Now lets find out what was going on to make a ten year old boy feel like his only option was to "run away from school". The first report stated the boy lives in a hotel. Things don't sound good for this little fellow. I hope someone takes some time to figure out what's going on in this boys life and help him. "

" I couldn't agree with you more "elb". I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully, this will be under investigation. Hotel.... eeeesh! "

" Come on people..we are talking about the Napa Register! There is no way we will get a complete story out of our local newspaper. If it isn't about the "who's who" of the valley you may as well write the "rest of the story" off, kind of like what Napa does to its children anyhow. Let's just pray that the Vallejo community takes care of their own better than Napa does. "

" sometimes people are in hotels because they lost their homes, or have had a tragedy. Either way, alot of stress for this family and if services are needed for them,.....then I'm sure they will get them. Perhaps the little boy is having problems at school and left to go find his precious mama and daddy. Their is definitely many possibilities for why he left the school.

Let's just be really glad that he was found and hope that nothing bad happened to him while he was looking for his family. "

" qofv63baby, If you don't like the way the "Napa Regester" writes thing up then why are you reading it? And if you don't like the way Napa does things then why are you there?
I just hope the young man is ok. "

" To Sammy you got it right my child told me the reason the young child left school he got tried of the kids calling him names and hitting him. I prayed that god made sure those people son was safe and people stop passing judgement we do not know why this child family is in a hotel it could have been because a fire problem or something else it is none of are business lets be happy this child is safe god bless! " OMG. The fact that this child left school and was trying to find his parents, regardless of the location, really speaks for itself. it sickens me, the amount of bullying that is tolerated in the school system. It sounds like this child was seeking comfort from his family. It appears more supportive to me than anything else. Is it really important whether the family was homeless or in a hotel? Parents can be the epitome of strength no matter where they're at. This story is heartbreaking. I hope the school takes a good strong look at itself. Good for this child to walk away from an abusive school environment. No one should have to put up with abuse! "

" Really, are the young boy's problems any of our business ?

Doesn't he have enough to deal with without a whole other county, along with his peers, making it worse ?

He's 10 year's old. Why should we add to his stress ? "

" Reason-ator......once again your heartfelt concern for this little boy is felt across the entire county. Thank you. ?????
Vocal-de-local ...Sammy.....naynay....I couldn't have said it better.
The School is responsible for maintaining a "safe and comfortable environment" for their students. It is in the rule/law book that all schools have to follow. Ask me how I know? With as many kids as I have raised and put through this school system....been toe to toe with a big wig or two in my day.
Child rights prevail at ALL times. This young mans rights were/are being clearly violated. Something can/should/and will be done about it now I am sure.
I am very glad that he was found unharmed. Physically anyway. Hugs to you young man. "

I think people are just concerned about the little guy school just refuse to take responsabilty when it comes to bullies they always have and if the public doesnt stand up and tell these schools they need to enforce their no bulling polices they wont do it,I am going to go out on a limb here one who wants to turn a blind eye proboble was a bully. Its we say no to these bullies and to the schools that protect them and to the parents that dont teach thier kids compasion. So please by all means keep your head in the sand.
