Bloggermania II was Sturday at Veteran's Park in Yountville.

Did you make it out there to join the dozens of others who submit comments on a regular or semi-regular basis to the articles at NapaValleyRegister.com?
Saturday was a day for me to be on the road with my kids, and I almost made it out there, but I missed the festivities.

Come on, those of you who made it, let everyone know how everything went.

" It was a beautiful day for a picnic in the park!

The company was great and the wine flowed freely... "

" I have to say I had a good time...brought hubby, he said he had a good time....Found out Kevin and I went to elementary school and high school together, and he was formerly married to my first horse riding buddy....small world.
For those of you too scared to come...you know who you are...I say too bad so sad ...you missed the great opportunity to meet a very special middle schooler. Angelina (Diehard4ever) is a great girl and her mom (Funnyme)and Dad should be very proud of her.
I enjoyed talking to everyone there, and it was nice to put a face to the screen names.
And while we did have some discussion on "issues" we were civil, and ended the day with hugs all around.
I think that must of been because of all that wine Adark1 brought. ;)
Thank you so much for putting it together! "

" I'd like to give a big thank you thank you thank you to JV and Jon for their support.

I also want to give the SAME thank You's to kwikee mart!

Between the both of them there was plenty of snacks and yummies for the adults and kids that attended. Thanks for believing in the concept. Its business people like yourselves that keep my faith in what NAPA CAN be and is!

The next person in line would be Kevin...We have finally agreed on something!

Kevin is a person with whom I'd stand back to back and take on all naysayers as he is a man of his word, and keeps it no matter what.( Kevin had a family function and went back and forth between both and never lost his smile of humour..I salute him and respect him)

Seeing we BOTH have lived in the midwest, we understand living and having the courage of your convictions and not ONLY talking the talk, but walking the walk. Same with the attendees who showed. My thanks go out to all of you. "

" Continued............

Now to the dirt.....

Who knew Kevin was a consumate BarBq chef ( he has the tools to prove it).

2. Who knew ATeacher was a great theif? He *stole* a recipe for a soup that had all of us wanting to steal it from him!!!! He also has a personal engagement of great weight!

3.Who knew Sandra is not ONLY a very gracious lady, but one heckofa card shark as well!

4. The brat didn't dissappoint as she showed her knowledge in a *debate*with Sandra's hubby.

5.Who coulda thunk funnyme and angelina were experts in the mysterious art of making cous cous absolutly delicious? THANK you! soooo much still snacking on it!

6. Who could forget our newest rising star? That being PHarper? PHarper celebrated a BDay with us, showed up and although PHarper had other committments, showed up and including the family are folks I'd invite anywhere anyplace, anytime..

So .....the Bloggermania concept is a viable working model.....all you need do is show up if you can live to the courage of your convictions. Those mentioned...carry a lot more weight with me in debates here as they walk the talk.

As for me? Well the DWB mobile didn't fail me as I got a 10 mph over the speed limit ticket ( seeing I passed the sobriety test with flying colors) and will now go home to do some serious drinking. FOR those that attended, ty for making it a sucess!....See you all next year....perhaps! "

" I do believe a good time was had by all! I am sad to say that for all those who said they would make it there were not very many regulars in attendance. Perhaps it was primarily due to scheduling conflicts and the fact that the wine industry is extremely busy right about now. I would hate to think that it might be because people were uncomfortable because the blogging comments have been a tad heated lately. "

" Sandra-
Thanks! Your husband should get an account. He could be "Sandra's Husband"...

Teacher-
My mom wants the recipe for that soup. So do I. Pleeeease post it.

ADARK1-
I just chopped stuff, my mom did the rest...

OGreatPinkOne-
ADARK1 brought one of you cousins to give to you, but since you didn't show :P, he wanted to burn it! Although he decided against it and gave it to me. "

I hope your mom is having a speedy recovery from that surgery. Keep us posted. "

a teacher wrote on Sep 28, 2008 8:40 PM:

" Funnyme and angelina:

I will post the recipe when I have a sworn statement that funnyme will vote for Obama and Angelina will stop listening to Mike Savage.....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! "

diehard4ever wrote on Sep 28, 2008 9:01 PM:

" teacher-
I actually haven't listened to MIke for a while since the whole Wall Street thing started. I do NOT get the fancy bank terms. Pleeeease post it! As for my mom voting for Obama, fat chance. Seriously. All the recipes in the world couldn't buy that! Pleease post it! The last time I begged this much was when I wanted a new cell after I washed mine... "

funnyme wrote on Sep 28, 2008 9:08 PM:

" c'mon teacher, we can be civil, can't we?

I'm a conservative not a liar!

Reach down in your heart...I'm "almost" begging for that recipe. It was really, really good.
OK, how about if you make it again next time and I'll try to guess it?

Once upon a time in a far far land I made a "cream of green chile" soup and it was with poblano chiles (typically used for chiles rellenos) sweet corn and cream (creme fraiche)...how close am I?

Sorry about your sweetie's chemo. I certainly hope she'll beat whatever it is. Stay strong!

Maybe if you fed her that soup daily?...and invite us over?...maybe? "

a teacher wrote on Sep 28, 2008 11:02 PM:

" I teach 7th grade. I have no heart.

OK...

This is my variation of Duartes(a restaurant in Pescadero) Cream of chile soup.

-1 26 oz can of cream of mushroom soup
-The can minus 1 cup of milk or half and half.
-1 cup of yogurt or sour cream
-4 or 5 peppers, I used pasilla (flavorful, colorful, not too hot)

Roast the peppers, peel and seed. Put it all in a blender then heat until nearly boiling (it curdles if it boils). It goes well with croutons.

The amounts are negotiable. The type of pepper also. I think this would work well with roasted red peppers or poblanos.

Enjoy... "

" teacher-
THANK YOU!

Btw how did you know Angelina Gervasio was funnyme jr. in my letter to the editor??? "

Sandra wrote on Sep 29, 2008 9:27 AM:

" LOL "Sandra's Husband"..hehehaha He would LOVE that. He still gets a tad annoyed after 28 years of marriage that I did not take his last name, but kept my own. It was all about how my first name sounded with his last....too much like a plant, or bug...hyphenated was worse. His last name is really a good one, and our boys have it. So asking him to blog as "Sandra's Husband" would probably push him over the edge. He would also probably get VERY ANNOYED with a few of the posters, and get himself banned. I've seen him play basketball, and when fouled he turns into the "HULK". Though he is very civilized, and will respond in a civilized manner if treated that way. It is just that there is way to many uncivilized responses on these blogs...Also he would need to remain totally anonymous as his job would definitely be at risk if he truly said what he thought. So it is probably for the best that he does not turn into a blogger, especially one called "Sandra's Husband".....
But he definitly enjoyed himself at Bloggermania... "

Because your mother posted the letter. "

Thank you very much for the recipe! "

ADark1 wrote on Sep 30, 2008 6:27 PM:

" So,

I am wondering if I should go thru all of this again with help from the rest of you?

I do have to admit, Sandra's hubby ( brat calls it hubben) was great as well as PHarper's father and sister. Great folks all the way around.

Do you think the Bloggermania concept is worthwhile?

Do you prefer a closed environment where you can even wear a mask etc?

Do you prefer to let it die?

What do you think about having it the last week of August or first week sept?
We do NOT want to interfere with crush.

I'm wondering and Dan will probably need some input one way or the other...

Besides, Who's gonna pay my speeding tickets! :)

Let us know please? "

funnyme wrote on Sep 30, 2008 9:57 PM:

" Those who want to remain anonymous will never come no matter when you decide to do it, and those who don't mind meeting new people (even if it's out of curiosity) will drop by.
There's great people all around, we just don't all like the same things -or people...Thanks God!

It doesn't matter.

Pick a date!

btw, I must return to you those Disco CD's, ASAP. "

It sounds like y'all had a great time. I'm sure the light attendance may have been due to all the political volunteerism going on. I'm certain those with strong opinions, and not afraid to verbalize them, are active in putting their time where their opinions are. "

funnyme wrote on Oct 12, 2008 8:11 AM:

Excuse my ignorance, and what does FMC stand for in this case?
You know, I must be FULLY informed before I decide to associate myself with any group out there just in case in the near future I decide to run for office and little bits and pieces of "dirty laundry" pop up...(-: "
