A Calistoga woman went to the police station on Sunday afternoon to report a man she knows threatened her with a knife during an argument, police said.

The woman said Ivan Dejeronimo Martinez came to the residence in the 900 block of Washington Street and they got into an argument, Calistoga Police Cpl. Gary Enyart said. “She said he was intoxicated.”
The woman told police Martinez grabbed a knife, which she was able to take away from him, Enyart said.

She said he then armed himself with a pair of scissors and swung them at her in a stabbing motion, he said. “She said Martinez threatened to cut her into little pieces,” Enyart said.
Martinez left the residence and was arrested later that day at his place of employment.

Martinez, 26, of Calistoga, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and misdemeanor battery.
