Play for FREE todayThe reach of NapaValleyRegister.com to all parts of the country showed up in this week’s winners of the Can You Beat Randy? Pro Football Pool, as three of the top five are from out of state.

The state of Ohio, represented by Ted Eastway, took top honors for week No. 3, as Eastway (screen name buddababy6) correctly picked 14 of the week’s 16 NFL games.
A total of 23 people ended up with 13 of 16 correct, sending the decision to a tiebreaker to sort out who placed where.

The tiebreaker — guessing the correct score of the Dallas-Green Bay game that Dallas won 27-16 — gave Amanda Cadelago (acadelago) of Napa second place, followed by Frank Nola (R8RBOYZ) of American Canyon, William Berry (danberry05) from Arkansas and Daniel Patton (drcitizen) from Washington state.
Click here to see how all 316 players did for Week No. 4 and in the overall local and national standings.

Overall, fonzi is leading the pack with 36 wins, good enough for 50th place overall out of 118,000. Three players (are tied one game back of fonzi.
Remember, it is not too late to join and be eligible for end-of-season local and national prizes, as your worst four weeks of picks are tossed out.

" Nice to see we have such a tight race here at the Register pool and have four in the top 200 nationally and so many in the top 1000. "

" jeez! I thought Randy might comment on his troubles picking winners like "my dog eat the spread sheet" or something like that.

Hey Dan,
Are you in this pool? How are you doing? I would have thought the whole Register staff would have come to Randy's aid and would have at least been his secret picking team...or maybe that's the problem! "

" PS: just noticed that #'s 3, 4 and 5 in our local Register pool are registered (no pun intended) from out of down. Let's hope they are just lost Napan souls.

Come on people liven things up by posting more to your profiles. What's wrong? Are you afraid to disclose a little more about how you make your picks.
Check out my strategy (cteiii) it has worked well for me so far. -:) "

" jmo:
My 28 after three weeks is not much to brag about!
Just look up the name Seabag_fan ... yep, a Seattle fan, suffering through a season where the team should go to Pike Place Market's fish stand where the fish are tossed around. The three people who catch the most fish get a uniform and a spot as WR's in the starting lineup next week. "

" Dan, Thx for the come back.
Born and raised in Tacoma/Lakewood (no jokes please) makes me always think about the Dawgs and the great Puget Sound area...salmon, clams, big green trees, snow capped Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges and yes where I learned sail...oh the tears are flowing now.
perhaps # 3, 4 and 5 can give us a little input....maybe they are run a ways from NSH and don't want to found....but still love NFL football polls. -:)

You would think that if we had 318 players, more would want to post.

Come on folks speak up about the fun you are having or how miserable your picks have been so far this season. Remember the pool will drop tour four worst weeks. I personally want to keep my first three, but knowing that the pool rule say they will drop the 4 worst lets me want to take more risk each week from here on out. WHAT ABOUT YOU OTHER PLAYERS? "

" I only have 30 correct so far, which is disappointing to me at this point in the season. The good news is my correct picks have increased every week, so hopefully that trend continues. I generally will pick home teams unless the visitor is playing a really bad team. I took a couple risks on my Week 4 picks, hopefully they work out! Good luck to everybody! "
