" Vote Keith Caldwell. He's a politician for the people and really has his thought process intact. Watch this video again and determine for yourself which one of these guys is most dynamic and creative. "

" Vocal, you live in Anguin and hope Caldwell is elected and will vote down the Triad project. He and his campaign members are the ones who brought us rapid unbalanced growth in Amcan. He may not vote the way you hope he will if elected. That aside, he is currently under investigation for malfeasance involving $36,500 of firefighter education bonus pay. This newspaper is currently trying to get the Amcan city council to release the latest report on this activity. We have never elected a canidate who is under investgation nor have we ever had a candidate who refuses to quit the race under these circumstances. Do your civic duty and urge Caldwell to withdraw. " Delphi, do you think that the firefighter education bonus pay for higher education at a questionable institute was purposeful? Hey, when someone states that they have a four year degree and then shows proof of that degree, employers tend to trust their validity until proven otherwise. Quickly obtained BA degree programs exist all over the Bay Area and most are accredited and legitimate. And now you want to hold the fire chief solely responsible for employees taking advantage of the situation? The employees need to be held accountable. They should repay the money and then obtain their four year degrees the normal way.

And yes, I live in Angwin, and even though this is not my district, I have every right to express my political opinion for a county supervisor who will make decisions affecting the area I live in. Just because people live in a rural area does not mean their voices should remain "rural". "

" Vocal, yes I do think it was "purposeful". Firefighters are the most closely bonded workers in the community. They live together on the job. Calwell as well as the firemen in Amcan and, according to the Times Herald, the firemen in Vallejo knew these $495 one essay degees for extra pay were enethical at the least and fraud at the worst. A law firm hired by Amcan has said as much and the city has stopped payment. Please stop making excuses when you have no local knowledge of what is going on. Caldwell needs to withdraw. "

" Delphi, Almeda College was on the list of "APPROVED" colleges. Should management use their resources to question the merits of "approved" by upper levels?

If you want to focus on this issue, start by questioning the reason why firemen should be gaining pay increases for BA degrees. A certification program in "flood rescue" or "terrorist response" would be more appropriate justification for a pay raise. And that is what Caldwell needs to address right now.

But if a pay raise for BA degrees is a statewide policy for firemen, it's going to take a great deal of effort for Caldwell and it will divert his attention away from local issues. If that's where you want Caldwell to focus his attention, just say so. But to state that he should withdraw just because he approved an "approved college", that's not right. If this is truly important to you, follow the trial and see who "approved" the college. "
