• Addressing your comments to the message rather than the messenger
What gets your comment deleted?
• Personal attacks
• Derogatory remarks
• Name-calling of any sort
• Going off-topic
• Hate speech
• Racially-insensitive comments
• Implying guilt of a subject in a crime story before there is a court verdict
• Posting e-mail addresses
• Posting comments of a commercial nature
• POSTING WITH ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
• Linking multiple comments together with "to be continued..." to get around the 300 word limit.

If you want to focus on this issue, start by questioning the reason why firemen should be gaining pay increases for BA degrees. A certification program in "flood rescue" or "terrorist response" would be more appropriate justification for a pay raise. And that is what Caldwell needs to address right now.
But if a pay raise for BA degrees is a statewide policy for firemen, it's going to take a great deal of effort for Caldwell and it will divert his attention away from local issues. If that's where you want Caldwell to focus his attention, just say so. But to state that he should withdraw just because he approved an "approved college", that's not right. If this is truly important to you, follow the trial and see who "approved" the college. "
