NAPA - Virginia Brenner, member of a pioneering Napa family, passed away on Sept. 7, 2008, at her beloved Queen of the Valley Hospital.

FOLSOM - Kenneth Frank Childress, 61, passed away Sept. 1, 2008. He was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Napa, to Thelma Marie Abbott. Ken served in the Army from 1967 to 1969. He was a boat craftsman for 15 years before retiring in 2003.

SAN FRANCISCO - Our beloved Nancy Claire Johns passed away peacefully Sept. 1, 2008, following a courageous two-and-a-half year battle with stage 3 non-smoker’s lung cancer.

NAPA - Lorraine Marie Ladd, 86, was called to Heaven on Sept. 10, 2008, in Napa. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Manuel Machado; husband Elmer Ladd Jr.; and brother Douglas Machado.

NAPA - Jeanette Maxine Morton, 1931-2008, a longtime resident of Napa, died peacefully on Aug. 28, 2008. She loved Napa, world cruises, her pets, her family and friends.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Stephen John Wertz, 60, passed away Sept. 1, 2008. He was born May 16, 1948, in Ridgecrest. He graduated from Napa High School in 1966.
