The focus of the contest is ... Can You Beat Randy? ... and with two games left in Week No. 1, 104 of you are beating Register.com Sports Editor Randy Johnson in the weekly napavalleyregister.com NFL Challenge Pro Football pool.

Randy nailed eight winners so far, even going against his beloved Detroit Lions, winning with his pick of Michael Turner and the Atlanta Falcons instead.
Randy's 8, though, leaves him in a tie for 105th place with, among others ... me.

Sitting alone on op is GORAIDERS with 12 of 14 correct on opening week, followed closely by five players -- tjwhb, gbarsotti, fonzi, boomtho and Chargerfan -- who hit on 11 of 14 picks. GORAIDERS is tied for 30th in the national standings, out of 95,700 players.
Check back after the pair of Monday night games to see who is the winner for Week No. 1.

I'm trying to secure a prize for the weekly winners, but no success so far. Doc's Trophy Shoppe in Napa did step up and give trophies for the Regular Season Winner, the Overall Winner, and the Survivor Game winner. If you know of a busainess willing to offer a winner's prize for one or more weeks -- maybe a NFL team t-shirt or a dinner for four -- contact me at dross@napanews.com
There is still time to register, as the worst 4 weeks of picks are tossed out. Don't wait, register for free today by clicking here.

" I didn't do so good this week. I blame it on all the teams I picked to win that didn't. "

The Rogers era begins with a win tonight!
The RAIDERS go down 24 -13. Couldn't happened to a nicer guy (AL DAVIS). "

That's what I get for writing this after seeing how many of my teams lost ... thanks for the typo-check "
