Splashed cooking oil ignited a kitchen fire in downtown Napa Saturday evening, causing an estimated $75,000 in damages, according to Napa Fire.

No one was injured, Napa Fire Capt. Steve Brassfield said Saturday in front of the one-story house on the 1400 block of Center Street.

The call for service arrived at 6:02 p.m. The fire was knocked out about 10 minutes later, according to Napa Fire.

Firefighters had to punch holes in the roof and wall to fight the kitchen fire on the first floor, he said.

Brassfield said the house will be uninhabitable for a while.
