Honoring Amerca's heroes
I want to thank our country's veterans, police and firemen, and anyone who has ever stood up against the odds to defend the U.S. from the terrorists who destroyed the World Trade Center, part of The Pentagon, and nearly The White House.

The support the Palins really need
WASHINGTON — Ever since John McCain picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate, many have lavished praise on her decision not to have an abortion after she and her husband learned that their youngest child, Trig, would be born with Down syndrome. Do those telling Palin “attagirl” and “way to go” have any idea what challenges and struggles Trig’s parents — and all of us who care for children with special needs — live with every day? Though everyone cheered the Palin family in Minnesota this week, will those people be there for that little boy and his family when their support is really needed?
McCain's solid speech
McCain gave a great speech tonight, very good. He is certainly a better speaker than Bush, and seems very genuine. What stood out in my mind is that he has gotten older and wiser, and that is incredibly important in a President. He is the only one of the four, the Presidential and VP candidates, that are in that position.

The case for measure P
Napa County voters face a slew of decisions on Nov. 4, but only one county-wide ballot initiative: Measure P.
