John Graham - CASTRO VALLEY
John W. Graham, 54, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Castro Valley on Aug. 31, 2008. He was born in St. Helena on April 12, 1954, to Jack Graham and Shirley (Coyle) Graham.
The Graham family were longtime Napans. John spent his school years in Napa; he graduated from Napa High School and then attended Napa Junior College and San Francisco State.
He was in the electrical contracting business most of his life. For the past few years he had lived in the Bay Area in the communities of Woodside, San Mateo, Half Moon Bay and Hayward, and for the past six years he had been living in Castro Valley. He was especially proud of his career as a electrical project manager, particularly his work on the San Francisco MUNI light rail system along the Embarcadero.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 18 years, Mary Graham of Castro Valley; his mother, Shirley Graham of Sacramento; one son, John A. Graham of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Fred Graham and his wife Kim of Sebastopol and Denzel Graham of Napa; sisters Carolee and Eric Burse of Sacramento, Clarrisse Graham of Sacramento, Claudette and Robert Castillo of Mt. House, Sabrina Cruz of Vallejo, Ericka and Michael Smith of Sacramento; and all of his nieces and nephews. He has one grandson, Jonathan Avila. He will also be dearly missed by his in-laws, John and Delores Gibbs of Burlingame, Paul Gibbs and his wife Lori of Garden Valley, Ann Gibbs of Santa Cruz and Jim Gibbs of Fremont.
There will be a memorial service held Monday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m., at the First Christian Church, 2659 First St., Napa. Visiting hours will be held Monday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Claffey and Rota Funeral Home, 1975 Main St., in Napa.

God had a different plan for your life, I know that you are having a good time in heaven hunting/and fishing that was your passion, we will miss those great big squeezable hugs that you gave us your jokes and just your caring love for your family and friends.
