10:30 a.m.SAN FRANCISCO — A forecast of at least one more day of hot temperatures and poor air quality has prompted air quality officials to issue another “Spare the Air” advisory for the Bay Area.

Napa is rojected to top out at 104 today, and 100 tomorrow, according to qwikcast.com. (Click here for the Napa weather forecast)
Because the air quality is expected to be unhealthy with high ozone levels, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District is urging the public to cut down on driving Friday.

It’s the second day in a row the district has issued the advisory.
The worst smog is expected in eastern and central Contra Costa and Alameda counties from Martinez to Sunol, and in Benicia and Suisun City in Solano County.

The National Weather Service is predicting record highs are possible throughout the region.
Martinez is expected to see a high of 98 degrees, with Oakland topping off at 90.

" If we continue to allow massive development in Napa we'll be seeing similar levels of ozone that Contra Costa and Solano Counties 'enjoy' today. "

" I'm tired of the hot weather. Fall can't come soon enough. "

" This honestly doesn't feel that hot. I don't what all the complaining is about. What do people expect from summer time? This is pleasant. I love summer. "

" Spare the Air days are nothing more than a liberal plot to slow down the economy by spreading misinformation about air pollution. I say, drive all you want, burn leaves, run the A/C. It's not going to hurt anybody. "

" It would be a good incentive for Napa County to provide free bus and trolley transit on spare the air days (a few later bus runs would ensure those using Bart or the ferry, that they could travel home). "

" It's hot. Working outside today, I can tell you personally, it's hot. Chunk, you better be spending your day in an air conditioned office cause if you're calling the 103+ degree weather we felt up in St. Helena "pleasant" I worry about you :) "

" If certain people are wanting to "spare the air" then they should also ban cigarette smoking!

I can't tell you the number of times I am walking past a store front only to suddenly be choked by a waft of disgusting cigarette smoke.

Have you ever noticed how one cigarette in the general vicinity can just ruin everything, a nice meal, a thought process, a conversation, uh-hem-- a life sustaining breath of fresh air? "
