Napa police arrested two people on Tuesday on suspicion of drug activity.

Around 3 p.m., Edward Peter Williams was stopped in front of the Napa Wal-Mart on Lincoln Avenue for riding his bicycle against the flow of traffic.
As the officers approached Williams, he dropped a piece of crumpled paper containing methamphetamine on the ground, police said.

Williams, 41, of Napa, who is on parole and probation, was booked into the county jail on possession of meth and violation of probation.
About 9 p.m., officers saw Stacey Sullivan get out of a van at a convenience market on Imola Avenue and walk to the corner of the building, police said.

She returned about 30 seconds later, got into the van which left the store at a high rate of speed, police said.
Police stopped the van, and the driver James McCurdy, 50, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.

Sullivan gave the officers permission to search her and her purse, police said, adding that a large amount of cash was found in her purse.

Officers returned to the convenience store on Imola Avenue and searched the area Sullivan went when she got out of the van.

The found six grams of meth, police said.

Sullivan, 48, of Napa was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and violation of probation.

" Maybe the NPD can begin to eliminate the drug dealers at Fuller Park. Yesterday, 2 guys in a car parked on the side of the road were tapping their horn lightly as I walked by, then made eye contact. When I pulled out my phone and pretended to dial, they sped off. Lots of blatant hustling going on there. "

" Don't these people know that corners of buildings are off limits? I always take a WIDE path around the corners of buildings. I completely forgot one day and accidentally touched the corner of a building, then lived in fear the rest of the day that I would be followed and pulled over. Panic attack nightmare! WHEW! Thank Gawd nothing happened!

I wonder why the police left out the part that James and Stacey were under surveilance, the cops blew their cover with amateurish work (this isn't James' first rodeo), and then had to pull them over to salvage the case. "

" Marsha, it wasn't surveilance as no one was there to watch. So once again your wrong. And nothing was there to be found anyway. No it isn't james first rodeo... But i'm sure its the first time they will have found him drug free!! Outside of being 1 point over the limit (2 beers,) i would say, he is making progress. And least not out to start trouble in the lives of other people. Especially with factS that are untrue or one sided "

" Has anyone else noticed the increased police presence in and around town over the last few days/weeks? A few friends have commented the same. If it's true (which I'm not sure that it is) - I'm not complaining - its getting those bad guys and gals off the street. "

" Did anyone know that Napa County is the Meth Capitol. Gotta love the tweakers. "

" Wow...I feel outta touch! Y'all know these people? I have to applaud any and all police presence on a daily basis in the attempt to at the very least, make it uncomfortable to deal in our town. You'll never stop it, but if people have to think too hard they may move on. "

" "whatever", whoever you are... It says right in the story that officers saw Stacey get out of the van. That would be surveilance. It also says that a bag of meth was found. So, yes, there was something there to be found.

The only reason (besides meth psychosis paranoia) that a person would unload almost a quarter-ounce of meth and then rush away is because someone probably spotted a narc.

Unless, of course, the cops planted the meth and are making the whole thing up because they just don't like James or Stacey. I wouldn't rule that out. I do agree that James is making progress, but Napa cops have long memories. "

" the only problem with there hurry to get away is the dog that was with them was being petted and jumping all over the cops and as i observed from the laundry mat stacy standing there talking to the cops. "
