It may fairly be said that when it comes to background and experience, no presidential election in United States history has presented such a sharp contrast between the two leading candidates as does the one to be decided Nov. 4.

Dear editor, Labor Day weekend this year marks my 30-year anniversary in Napa. Moving here was such a change from where my husband and I were living in the East Bay. Because he had a job at Mare Island, commuting from Napa to Vallejo was a delightful change, plus living in such a beautiful, small-town atmosphere.

Dear editor, I’m happy to see Mervyns leave and can only hope the city of Napa encourages a quality replacement.
