Napa residents in the Coombsville area have been in the dark since about 1:10 a.m. as an equipment failure caused a power outage for 323 customers, according Jana Morris with PG&E.

The outage affected “the area along Silverado Trail from Soscol Avenue north to city limits (and) the area east of Silverado Trail and north of Skyline Park along Coombsville Road to Lake Madigan,” she said.
Power should have been restored to the customers by 2:30 p.m., said Morris, who added that an equipment failure caused a wire to come down, causing the outage.

At 1:12 p.m., it reached nearly 90 degrees in Napa, according to the Accuweather Web site.

" This is about the 5th power outage in my part of Napa this year. Luckily my power was restored about 3:30 am so I'm not dying in this heat.

I tell my friends in other parts of Calif. that it's like living in a 3rd world country when it comes to keeping the power on in this part of Napa. Way to go PG&E! "

" I live on Soscol, and our power was out from 1:10am to about 2:30am. Then, again this morning at 7:20am it went out, then on again at 8:30am. This is the second time this month we've lost power! In July we also lost power for about 2 hours, but that was due to a vehicle hitting a pole. It's all very annoying when it happens, I call them, they can't tell me why it's out, only an estimated time that it will be on again. Then, it flickers on for a second, off again! Finally, hours later, it's fully restored!
I sure hope everyone gets it turned back on before they melt from this heat wave. "

" Out here in the avenues the power was out more than 12 hours. 3rd time this summer of half day outages. It's bad when you are on a well and have nothing - no power, no a/c, no water. What's up PG&E ?! "

" We're on Coombsville and we had the 3rd outage in two weeks yesterday about 5pm which lasted til 9am this morning! Come on PG&E, it can't be that difficult! "
