The popularity of PINKS All Out stretches coast-to-coast, and points beyond, as the highly-successful reality television show on Speed Channel comes to Infineon Raceway, Sept. 5-6.

More than 400 grassroots drag racers will converge on the quarter-mile drag strip, and while many are from within a 100-mile radius of the Sonoma Valley, several racers are making a much longer journey.
In addition to California, three other states will be represented at PINKS All Out — Nevada, Oregon and North Carolina — as well as another country (British Columbia, Canada).

The PINKS brand is the second-highest rated programming on Speed Channel behind NASCAR, and that was evident as it took raceway officials less than 30 days to register over 400 racers for the event.
The Infineon Raceway show is slated to air as Speed Channel’s Thanksgiving Day special on Nov. 27.

“We went to the PINKS event in Las Vegas and were part of the final 20 cars, but we’re pumped to go to Sonoma. We don’t come to lose. It’s a big crapshoot, but it’s worth it,” said Tyson Wells, from British Columbia.
Wells will pilot his 1965 Volkswagen Beetle.

“I watch PINKS on television, and when I heard they were going to be at Infineon Raceway, a bunch of friends of mine decided to get together,” said Reno’s Bobby Brown, who will race his 1964 El Camino.

“We were already planning on going to a couple events in Sonoma this year, and we watch PINKS, so we’re looking forward to it.”

The raceway will host a Test-n-Tune on Friday, Sept. 5, with the actual racing taking place on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Racers will battle for a share of the $18,000 purse, as well as a new NAPA tool chest.

Infineon announces 2009 NASCAR date

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will return to Infineon Raceway for the 22nd consecutive year in 2009 for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.

NASCAR recently released its 2009 season schedule, and Infineon Raceway has again secured its traditional June date, with the event set for June 19-21.

The Sprint Cup Series will be joined by the NASCAR Camping World West Series for a full weekend of stock-car racing on the twisting 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course.

The Bennett Lane Winery 200, presented by Supercuts, will take place on Saturday, June 20, with the main event, the Toyota/Save Mart 350, set for Sunday, June 21.
