A helping hand, parcel post

Dear editor, I was involved in an injury on Aug. 21, outside the Main Street post office when I tripped on an uneven sidewalk. I would like to thank the people who did stop to help me (a few didn’t). I know there was one English couple and several others. One lady took my parcel, which was going to my grandson, who is in Afghanistan, and mailed it for me. She would not take the money for the postage. She said it was nothing compared to what our troops are doing for us. Thank you for caring.

Many thanks to all who were willing to help me. I have a few cuts, which the hospital glued together, and a beautiful black eye, but I feel grateful for no broken bones. Again, thank you so much and God bless us all.

" If the sidewalk is really bad, I'd file a claim with the city to try and at least get your medical bills paid. "

" Definetly get in contact with the city about that sidewalk. Even if they dont pay your bills, maybe they will get it fixed to prevent this from happening to someone else. I am sorry you got bumped up and hope that you feel better soon. Another smile for the lady that mailed your package for you. Very nice to see people helping others out. I hope your grandson returns home safely to you. He is a very brave man. "
