Malcom Wood
NAPA - Malcolm James Wood died peacefully at his family home on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, after a valiant two-year struggle with cancer. He was 43. Malcolm was born and raised in Napa and graduated from Napa High School and UC Berkeley. He obtained his California teaching credential in history at San Francisco State. He enjoyed model and prototype railroading, astronomy and travel. He was active in the East Bay music scene and worked at Rasputin Music in Berkeley before his illness overtook him.
He is survived by his mother and father, Marie and Maurice Wood, and by his sister, Jeanette Hoffman.
His final days were greatly eased by the compassionate care provided by Napa Valley Hospice.
There will be no formal service but the family will appreciate visits from those who would like to share memories during the coming weeks.
