Wayne Nicholes

NAPA - Wayne Palmer Nicholes, 86, loving husband, father and grandfather left this earth and went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, following a brief illness, in Napa. Wayne was born May 24, 1922, to Lester Lee Nicholes and Mary (Palmer) Nicholes on a farm near Cutler, Ohio. Wayne has one brother, Louis Nicholes, who lives in Florida.

Aileen Migdal

NAPA - On Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, a very special woman by the name of Aileen Madeline Migdal passed away at the age of 85.

Bill Cappelle

HUNTINGTON BEACH - William Keith “Bill” Cappelle was born July 24, 1958, in San Pedro. He and his family moved to Orange County where Bill lived for most of his life. After graduating from Fountain Valley High School, Bill worked for many years in the restaurant business and most recently in the printing industry.

Albert Dwyer

NAPA - Albert P. (Al) Dwyer, 79, passed away Aug. 21, 2008, at his home in Napa, of cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born Oct. 11, 1928, to Albert and Veronica Dwyer in Westbrooke, Maine.

Sharon Pyle

NAPA - Sharon Jeanette Pyle died peacefully at home on Aug. 22, 2008, while surrounded by her family. She was 65.

William Carden

NAPA - William Grifton Carden, 75, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Queen of the Valley Medical Center. Bill was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Aug. 10, 1933.

Joyce Hyde

OTTAWA, Ill. - Joyce (Hellmann) Hyde, 55, passed away Aug. 22, 2008, in Ottawa, Ill, where she resided for the past three years. Born Nov. 9, 1952, in Napa, to Donald and Barbara Hellman, she graduated from Napa High School in 1970. She worked for Sara Lee Baking Company for 27 years. She enjoyed helping with Elk Grove 4-H, garage sales, quilting, and the Red Hat Society.

Malcom Wood

NAPA - Malcolm James Wood died peacefully at his family home on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, after a valiant two-year struggle with cancer. He was 43. Malcolm was born and raised in Napa and graduated from Napa High School and UC Berkeley. He obtained his California teaching credential in history at San Francisco State. He enjoyed model and prototype railroading, astronomy and travel. He was active in the East Bay music scene and worked at Rasputin Music in Berkeley before his illness overtook him.

Elizabeth Chrestensen

NAPA - Elizabeth “Betty” Chrestensen died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at Napa Nursing Center. She was born April 15, 1922, in Sopras, Colo., to Joseph and Alice Zanotelli.
