One man ended up in the hospital and another behind bars following a fight in the alley behind Ash Street in Old Town on Tuesday night.

When police showed up in the alley near Randolph Street on a disturbance call, they found two men who had been in a fight, Napa Police Sgt. Tim Cantillon said. “They both were bloody. And they were also very uncooperative. They wouldn’t tell us what happened or if they were victims.”
Meanwhile, a witness told officers another man involved in the fight had left the scene and went into a home on Ash Street, Cantillon said.

When police went to the Ash Street house they found Rick Eric Turpin “lurking in a dark corner when we did a sweep of the residence,” Cantillon said. “Once again, no was talking.”
Turpin, 40, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer.

Later that night, around midnight, police were called to Queen of the Valley Medical Center regarding a man seeking treatment, Cantillon said.
“The patient was one of the people who was at the Ash Street house. He was being treated for a head wound. He was transferred to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.”

Cantillon said the incident does not appear to be gang related.
