Community Action of Napa Valley has named Drene Johnson its new executive director.

Lisa Batto, executive vice president at the Napa Chamber of Commerce, was among the 38 participants in the third and final year class of Academy, a professional development program presented by the Western Association of Chamber Executives.

Jan Lanterman, artistic director of the Napa Valley Choral Society, announced that Kim Markovich, kindergarden/eighth-grade music teacher at Blue Oak School, will assume leadership of the Napa Valley Youth Chorus beginning with the fall 2008 season.

For 25 years, Napans have been buying paint from Bob McAdams at Devine Paint Center. Recently he opened a second store on Solano Avenue, near Ranch Market. 

The 32nd annual Napa Wine & Crafts Faire is Sept. 13, on First Street in downtown Napa. The event features close to 200 artists showing original handcrafted arts and crafts, and is free to attend. It’s a must see if shopping for yourself or if trying to get a jump on Christmas shopping.

Frank Family Vineyards has opened its new tasting room in the old Craftsman house on the property and demolished the old building it formerly used.
