The Napa High varsity girls water polo team got its first dose of competition Saturday morning as it took on a team of Indians alumni in a scrimmage.
Bea Ramey, a 2003 graduate led the alumni in scoring. Sara Douglass and Crysta Deus led the varsity team with four goals apiece, while captains Erin Komplin and Cami Zeller, Alex St. Clair, Jamie Forcier and Lindsay Schmitz each added one goal. Zeller chipped in three steals, Douglass, Komplin, Forcier and Emma Witt each had two steals, and Colleen Chester, Schmitz and St. Clair had one steal apiece.
Goaltender Sierra Barnes had three blocks and one steal while playing the first half, and Kaitlyn Shubin had four saves in the second half.
The Indians are scheduled to open their season at McClatchy-Sacramento at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
