" I had the fortunate opportunity to meet up with Delmer this summer, 40 years after we parted ways upon graduating from Napa High - Class of 68. Despite his ill health, he was upbeat and focused on living his life to the fullest. We talked about old times and caught up on the new stuff. He was thrilled to have been able to attend our class reunion and see "old" friends. He only regretted not seeing some high school friends who didn't make it to the reunion. He talked about his illness with ease but didn't dwell on it. Despite the hair loss, he looked mostly the same as I remember him.
His sense of humor was intact and he was fun to talk with.
I'm glad I got the chance to see and visit with Delmer again before his passing. My condolences to his wife and sons. Rest in peace, my friend.
