AMERICAN CANYON - Elmer Jerl (Bud) Wheeler passed away Aug. 18, 2008. He was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Major County, Oklahoma, to Lester and Minerva Wheeler.

He lived in Oklahoma, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Washington, making American Canyon his final home since 1958. Bud was a farmer, railroad track inspector, World War II army private, homesteader in Wyoming, sawmill operator, watch repairman, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Amy Georgina, along with four children: Ed Wheeler, Linda Skipper, Michael Wheeler and Kathy Faubert; daughter-in-law Trudy Wheeler; and sons-in-law Ron Skipper and Ron Faubert. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Rachael Heatherly, Amy Lanoue, Mike Wheeler Jr., Liane Brickwood, Bill Smith, Lindsey Wheeler and Brian Skipper; grandson-in-law Dave Lanoue; granddaughter-in-law Rose Smith; great-grandchildren Samantha and Tucker Lanoue, Josh, Cody and Brandon Smith, Leiah Monroe, Elijah Brickwood, and Logan, Dylan and Jordan Wheeler; and great-great-grandchildren Bryce and Ariana Monroe.

A service with military honors is held Thursday, Aug. 28, at 4 p.m., at Inspiration Chapel, 2383 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa.
