It’s not that far off that a choice will be made on who will be the supervisor for District 5. What with the issues at hand within the district and the county, and the necessity for a competent, knowledgeable and professional individual with the best interest of the people at heart to put trust and commitment into, I am voicing my support for Gary Simpson for District 5 supervisor.

The preliminaries gave way to a close race. The bottom line is integrity. There can be no question as to the integrity and honesty of one running for public office or any other position where people put their faith, trust and confidence in that individual.
Gary Simpson watched over Napa County as its top law enforcement official for 20 years as our sheriff. Now that, in and of itself, is an achievement to be proud of and hard to attain and keep. Apparently we, as residents of the county, extensively trusted Gary and put confidence in how he handled fighting crime and conducted business with the county’s residents’ best interest at heart because we kept electing him to office. The only people Gary had to answer to was the people of Napa County. You don’t keep office as the sheriff of a county for 20 years by having negative public issues or being evasive, deceptive or dishonest.

Gary’s credentials, including his personal, educational and professional credentials, are verifiably impressive. Though Gary could have very well just kicked back and retired after being sheriff, he desires to continue to offer a positive input to our county through his efforts in representing the people and the district he lives in while having a voice in the county as a whole.
Gary is a lifelong resident of Napa County. While managing a multi-million dollar budget and a large staff, he found the time to listen to and approach the needs of the people of Napa County as sheriff. He will continue to listen to and approach the needs of the people in District 5 with their best interest in mind. Gary has always been one to approach issues with compassion, fairness, directness and respect while evaluating his facts and coming up with a resolution. Not only in District 5, but within the county as a whole, there are concerns and issues which will have an everlasting effect in one manner or the other on the future of Napa. As District 5’s voice Gary Simpson will provide his district an individual who will provide leadership, knowledge and a business background, as well as utilize his professionalism in approaching district issues which will also affect the future.

Rich Jager, Harold Moskowite and several other leaders put their support toward and stated their faith in Gary. It shows the confidence they have in his abilities and qualifications to take on such an important position. Make sure everyone in the district races gets out and votes.

" County supervisors are required to negotiate with employee unions for their pay and benefits. I would like to know if Mr. Simpson has received campaign contributions of any kind from county employee unions. If he has, he cannot bargain for the benefit of the taxpayers and therefore is disqualified from his duties before he is elected. I would like to hear the answer to my question. "Has Mr. Simpson accepted campaign contributions from a county employee union?". "
