A 16-year-old suspected Sureño gang member was arrested and booked Friday at Napa Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon on the 300 block of Brown Street.

The juvenile is suspected of participating in a fight against a group of Norteño gang members, police said.

Napa Police’s gang unit is investigating the incident, Napa Sgt. John Kostelac said Saturday.

" This kid is arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, give him a good slap on the wrist. Next time it will be for murder. I know there is some who will say, but he's only 16, like a 16 year old can't hurt or kill someone with a weapon. Give me a break!!!!!!! "
