ST. HELENA - Marcia “Marcie” Frances Danner, a 38-year resident of Calistoga, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at St. Helena Hospital. She was 61. Marcie was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Farmingdale, N.Y., to John and Maddie Danner.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Roger Demmin; her daughter, Katie Danner-Demmin of Honolulu, Hawaii; her three sisters: Diane Dumond (Sam), Joan Michaux (Dick) and Lynn Dyke (John) and her brother, John Danner (Judy). She is also survived by her brothers- and sisters-in-law Phil and Emily Demmin, Ron and Karen Demmin, and Kathy and Bill Brady, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marcie loved plants of all kinds, animals, reading and gatherings with family and friends. She brought people together. Marcie was the perfect hostess and put others at ease with her humor and warmth. She gave more to others than she kept for herself and touched an enormous amount of lives. She will be greatly missed by us all. Marcie, we love you.

A private memorial will be held with immediate family on Saturday, Aug. 23, to celebrate her life and the love that she gave.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marcie’s name to the Calistoga Public Library or the California Native Plant Society, Napa Valley Chapter.

Arrangements are under the care of Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail, Napa. Family and friends are invited to send condolences online at www.rpfsc.com.

" Dear Rodger & Katie..I just heard of Marcie passing. I didnt know she was ill. Even though we hardly saw each other, when we did, it was as if we saw each other every day. I have fond memories of Marcie at Lois Hutchings house. We worked together there. We had fun times. Blessings to you and all of Marcies family and close friends. She will be missed by all. " Marcie has been a fine woman, giving of herself to all whom she knew, teaching others by her interaction with Katie and Roger, nurturing other's children. I say a prayer for the family's rough time. I give a nod to a humble community member, Marcie, who shared her time and love with all living things. "
