ST. HELENA - Longtime Napa County resident Stanley C. Woodruff died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at St. Helena Hospital, following a short struggle with cancer.

SALEM, Ore. - David A. Taray, 55, of Independence, Ore., died July 27, 2008, in the Salem Hospital in Salem, Ore. He attended Justin High School from 1967 to 1970, and graduated from Sunbury High School in Sunbury, Pa., in 1971.

SMITHVILLE, Tenn. - Virginia Elberta Christian, 88, of Woodbury, Tenn. (formerly of California), passed away Aug. 19, 2008, at NHC Healthcare of Smithville, Tenn.

NAPA - David Henry Calkins fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008. He was surrounded by his loving family.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - James F. Bryden passed away Aug. 10, 2008, in an Albuquerque, NM hospital, following a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

NAPA - Carolyn Lee Kuehl passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 18, 2008. Carolyn was born on April 7, 1940, to James and Louise Overstreet in McAllen, Texas, where she was reared and educated. She attended two years of junior college and received her license as a cosmetologist.
