NAPA - Donna Joy Montoya was born Jan. 16, 1945, in Long Beach, to the proud parents Donald and Josephine Stoddard. She spent her early childhood in Clayton, Ga., moved to California and graduated from Richmond High School in 1963. She married Robert Montoya to whom she was married until he passed away in 2001. They had three children: Steven Montoya, Kevin Montoya and Melanie Blackmon. Steve resides in Albuquerque, N.M., with his wife Danielle and son Max (3). Kevin resides in Lafayette with his wife Nicole and children Robert (6) and Katherine (4). Melanie resides in Napa with her husband Rodney and their children, Malia (7) and Jordan (4).

Donna passed away Aug. 14, 2008, at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her brother, Steve Stoddard, sisters Glenda Cunningham and Emily Goldstein, children and grandchildren.
A pioneer in the video rental business, Donna and Bob opened Take Five Video and had stores in Sonoma, Boyes Hot Springs and Novato. Donna also worked in the radiology department at the Queen of the Valley Hospital for 14 years.

There will be a memorial at her home in Napa on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 1 p.m. Please contact the family for additional details. Arrangements are under the direction of Richard Pierce Funeral Service and words of sympathy may be sent to the family online at www.rpfsc.com.

" On my first day of pre-school Donna walked me to my class. She and my mother were best friends. Bob and Donna and the flea market were a very special part of my childhood and my sisters too. Our prayers are with you all. and, I will never forget Sadie Renee either. God bless.
