The runners Justin-Siena cross country coach Jim Haugen says his varsity boys senior captains and top competitors this fall include, (from left) Mike Bozzini, Kevin Cardey and John Masyczek, who worked out during the recent Humboldt State University Distance Running Camp.

The North Coast Section Division IV preseason rankings on the Cross Country Express blog compiled by two-time defending NCS Division IV champion Matt Duffy, a 2008 St. Mary’s-Albany graduate, rates the Braves boys second behind Duffy’s alma mater. Justin-Siena returns all seven runners from its 2007 squad. Duffy rankings have Marin County Athletic League opponents Tamalpais and San Rafael ranked third and fourth, respectively, and Piedmont fifth.
“Our top seven guys have been running all summer and they are fired up and ready to run,” Haugen said.
