I've had a car stolen. I've had many of my cars broken into and had things stolen. I figured it was pretty obvious I was mocking the people who were in the stolen car ( who, to be fair, may not have known the car was stolen- people have been known to "buy" cars that they were unaware were stolen ).

It was nice to be called a thief by someone who is for Obama, though. That's some great insight. Kinda scary how some types of people will label someone they don't even know. Like I just did. "

Was the car hot wired? Was it driven with its own keys? When was the car reported stolen, a few hours earlier, days, weeks? Why would the cops be in the "look out" for that particular car?

Actually there was a time in our history when Germans were the subject of scorn regarding their immigration status and surname. Where I grew up in Santa Rosa, we had neighbors with a French surname living next door. Their son used to come over and tease us for being "German". There were all kinds of stereotypes he used to get our goat! Funny thing is, our heritage and paternal surname was actually Dutch! I guess kids don't know everything! But his parents were sure filling him up with discriminatory values at a young age!

My husband's maternal line immigrated to the U.S. in 1710. They were German Palatines and were treated like slaves upon arrival. Immigrants today are treated like royalty by comparison! German Palatines were expected to work for free and in fact, they were indentured servants for awhile, until they established their own communities and refused to assimilate into British colonies, partly due to mistreatment!

The world was a tough place for immigrants back then; far worse than the comfy pillow we've stuffed to soften the impact for immigrants today. When I hear the whine of modern day immigrants, I'm annoyed! Some of them are coming here with the intention of "take" rather than "give" or making a positive contribution. Stealing, participating in the drug trade, operating dangerous drug cartels, using our national forests to grow drug crops, working and distributing earnings under the table; it seems the attitude is more take than give! I'm not the most patriotic individual, partly due to my upbringing and participation in the 60's/70's hippie culture, but I'm getting a little fed up with the U.S. being such an easy target for "dumping". "
