Think green
The second Think Green World Music Festival takes place Saturday in the south gardens at Copia from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. The music, workshops and exhibits are designed around the theme “Promoting Environmental Awareness.”
Lesley Nagy, host of TV20’s “Your Green Life,” is the festival emcee. Candela, Caribbean Allstars, West African Highlife Band and Sang Matiz will entertain the crowd throughout the day.
The event includes entertainment for children by the Magical Moonshine Theater. Kids can create a solar-powered sunflower with Constance Shipman of Mindful Garbage, make recycled art with Nikki Ballere and William Callnan and visit with the “Rockin’ Reptiles” from Tree Frog Treks.
Festival organizers are providing a solar-powered music stage, composting stations for food and beverage biodegradable products, and recycling stations for all glass, cans and paper items. Organic and sustainably produced beer and wine and organic world cuisine will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity.
Advance tickets are $10 per person, $5 for kids 6 to 12. Children 5 and under are admitted free. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/34270 until midnight on Thursday. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15 per person, $7 for kids 6 to 12.
