“The Drowsy Chaperone,” the Tony Award-winning musical within a comedy, has settled in for a month-long run at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theater through Sunday, Aug. 17.

Three of the country’s top music attractions are slated to headline performances at this year’s Napa Town & Country Fair.

This year’s Music in the Vineyards line-up promises both excitement and fun, presented in the casual, friendly style that has become a hallmark of the 14-year-old chamber music festival.

“Love’s Labors Lost” proved to be just about perfect summer entertainment last weekend. A lively treatment of one of Shakespeare’s lesser-performed works, set outside in the cool, lovely glade at the Napa College, it’s fun, user friendly — and free, and it packed in an audience of all ages. 

Di Rosa Preserve hosts its First Friday gathering Aug. 1, 7 to 10 p.m. in the Gatehouse Gallery with trombonist Andy Strain with colleague Kevin Adams, who will perform an electro-acoustic piece that combines movement, sound and light. New art from Oakland is on display and DJ Pascal will provide music to accompany summer cocktails in the gallery, which overlooks the winery lake.

Tickets for evening concerts are $50; Family Concert: $10 and $20   

The second Think Green World Music Festival takes place Saturday in the south gardens at Copia from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. The music, workshops and exhibits are designed around the theme “Promoting Environmental Awareness.”
