Are you seeing graffiti around the area where you live, work, go for a walk, take a drive or more?

Let us know here, and we'll pass this along to city staff so they can know about it too.
This is going to stay on the Web site as long as people continue to report graffiti troubles as our part of a community service project.

" Downtown Napa on Riverside Drive is always covered with the stupid XIV tags. They get my uncle's fence all the time and it gets expensive to remove it all summer long. "

" There's none now but there is a fence on Bryan Ave that gets it a lot.My dad crappily painted it over last year cause he got tired of looking at it. Then the City came out and said "good enough". It never got painted over right. Wilkins Ave gets it too there is a complex that got tagged right in the front 2 weeks ago. The maintenance cleaned it up but, those are just a couple of areas that gets tagged a lot. "

" The bike bridge over 29 from CA Blvd to Solano. There is some vile, angry graffiti there, including swastikas. "

" Where is there not graffiti? I think most people don't even see it anymore. The taggers tag everything, back of signs, lightposts, trees, you name it. There still is a bunch on Hagen Road on the back of road signs and the protectors on the big curves. The city and owners got rid of the Big stuff, but it's the small things that mark their territory. Keep your eyes out in unlikely places and report it! Poor graffiti cleaner, he's got to be the busiest guy in Napa. "

" Umm... Suggestion:

Maybe don't want to post where you live, because even though these morons probably aren't smart enough to operate a computer or keep a job that affords them the ability to pay the PG&E/Provider fees to keep a computer running... They can catch wind about these message board conversations and might very well head on out to make an example of something they read here.

Just a suggestion. "

" Everywhere there's grafitti. It's in the form of new hotels, banks, chain stores and the like. Just like grafitti, nobody asked for it. I find it disgusting and outrageous to see so many us doing absolutely nothing about it. Come together, people ! Make some noise, but, not with a can of paint ! Don't wait til they take all of your rights ! "

barefoot wrote on Jul 30, 2008 9:45 PM:

" The stupid part about grafitti is that it puts a bullseye around the location. It's like a chain link fence. Everyone in the center is a suspect. Innocent or not, they probably know who's doing the tagging. Btw, to answer the question, about 20 minutes away. "

I'm amazed cops don't see these things. I only drive around town Sunday mornings and I see so much graffiti! "

" Yes graffiti needs to be cleaned up in our city, but I really like to know what is getting done about all the gang fighting. I know that in the last 2 weeks there has been several gang issues going on in this city. I know that knowone has been arrested and from my experience with personal seeing this the police can not follow up or patrol the area where there has been complaints. I dont feel the police in Napa are doing a good job to get behind gang issues, that is including graffiti(but that is just 1 small party of it-there is so much more going on and Napa is not being told about it!!! If anyone sees anything going on you might think looks and sounds like a gang issues PLEASE call the POLICE dont be afraid- we need to get this under control NOW!!!! The more calls they get the more sooner someone will finaly get locked up and the less crime on our streets!! "

" Also to let you know = gogojr1 and everyone else- you are wrong about the age- they are more like 18-25yrs old!! they just act as if they are 15-19yrs old... These are grown men who lives with there parents, who ok this life style and it makes me sick- but they do hang out and date young teen girls!! "

" Why doesn't the NPD and/or FBI have a young cop go under cover and "join a gang" until he figures out where and when they hang out so they can bust 'em all at the same time? Does that make too much sense? "

Ugh.

Seriously--taggers should be staked out and then forced to join graffitti clean-up duty that starts promptly at 4:30 am. "

" The NPD got a grant to do DUI checks. Why not get a grant for a couple of SWAT teams to kick in some doors, rub some faces in the blacktop, and clean up the gangs...??? NPD already knows who and where they are... They will do nothing unless they are paid extra, like the DUI grant.

"To Protect and Serve" is more like extortion these days. They only go after strawberry vendors unless they get paid extra.... "

" Graffiti is vastly up at the following locations North Napa.
Calif Blvd-Public Storage Building Back of Building
Jefferson-Building side Golden Bagel
Pueble Av. Bundy's Boot Store side of Building,.
Sheridan Dr. On Street sign coming into neighborhood. Same person leaving same marks...Please pass onto respective parties.
I suggest if the city wants to get serious they will install video cameras at one location that is always hit the hardest and that is Public Storage along the tracks backside on Claremont. "
