A teen baseball player on Saturday was transported from Yountville to Queen of the Valley Medical Center after he fainted during the fourth inning of a Joe DiMaggio League World Series baseball game at the Veterans Home of California’s Cleve Borman Field.

The player, C.J. Maldonado, fainted as he was walked to the dugout, said Steve Meyer, president of the Joe DiMaggio League.
Maldonado, 18, plays with the Sierra Sundevils of Reno, Nev., in the league for ages 16 to 18 olds.

He had been hit by a pitch during a game the day before, Meyer said. The teen suffered from a case of heat exhaustion in 2007, he added.
His condition could not be obtained on Saturday afternoon.

" 3,200 town homes right on the river??? We should have learned a long time ago about building homes in the flood way/plain. Who's going to pay for flood control after this development inevitably starts flooding?" You can bet it won't be the developer, because he'll be gone by that time! After the tax payers pay for flood control for these poorly placed homes, where will the existing river & marsh water go? It has to go somewhere. Will they flood out homes that were previously safe before the advent of the development? "
