Concerns over a ‘hostile takeover’ of U.S.

Connie Fogal, leader of the Canadian Action Party, was nominated as a finalist in Sonoma State University’s Project Censored “Most Censored News Stories of 2007-08 Awards” for her article, “North American Union: The SPP is a ‘hostile takeover’ of democratic government and an end to the Rule of Law,” published Aug. 2, 2007, by Global Research, about the integration of Canada, the United States and Mexico.

From Sonoma State University’s letters to Fogal: “On behalf of the Project Censored staff, faculty and students, we thank you for your courage and professionalism in investigative reporting. We would be interested in having you discuss the Top 10-winning article that you wrote, as well as your thoughts and experiences with regard to media and information manipulation in the U.S.”
From Fogal’s article: “Since March 2005, under the direction of three senior cabinet ministers of each country, about 100 working groups of unelected officials from government and industry have been meeting at taxpayer expense deciding on and directing the implementation of the restructuring of the apparatus of governance and the form of rule over the people. Their command goes out down the chain of bureaucracy expending vast amounts of taxpayer dollars implementing the changes in our border crossings, in our airports on and to our roads and highways, in our personal identification systems, in our health, in our vaccines, over our food supplements, in our pesticide safety levels, in our schools and universities, in the exploitation of our natural resources — our rivers, lakes, oil, gas — in immigration, over our right of habeas corpus, in our right of due process, our right to assemble and our freedom of speech.”

“Government of the people, by the people, for the people, has been eliminated while those people we have elected stand idly in the sidelines apparently blissfully oblivious, or deliberately careless of the termination of their policymaking role except as a rubber stamp. They have permitted an undemocratic elite to control them and the operation of government. It is by us, the general citizenry, that members of Parliament and members of legislative assemblies and city councilors, and senators and congressmen, are supposed to be ruled in all matters, not by the military/industrial/complex that General Dwight D. Eisenhower warned about on his final address to his nation. The prime minister and presidents, along with their most senior cabinet members and officials, really now do apply a ‘Divine Right of Kings’ mentality to their role. They have metamorphosed into a cancer rotting the life out of our democracies.”
In September 2007 I delivered Jerome Corsi’s book, “The Late Great U.S.A.,” to the office of Rep. Mike Thompson, D-St. Helena. Corsi’s book details how the SPP is being implemented through NAFTA, through the executive branch, without congressional oversight.

Thompson returned the book to me, along with the following letter, dated Oct. 17, 2007:
“Dear Mr. Eggers,

I am returning the book you left at my office. We clearly disagree on whether this is a legitimate issue.

For the life of me, I don’t understand why you can’t accept what I have been repeatedly telling you. I am not going to vote, I will never vote, to abandon our sovereignty. Moreover, nobody, nobody, will ever vote to change our American flag into a hybrid that incorporates the flags of Canada and Mexico. It is pointless to continue a conversation that is at best speculative and at worst political nonsense.

“These are unsettling times, Mr. Eggers, and we need reasoned debate by reasonable people, not self-serving propaganda offered up by ideologues like Mr. Corsi.

Sincerely,

Mike Thompson”

What does Thompson mean by “sovereignty” vote, when most everything is happening through the executive branch, through NAFTA, which Congress did vote for? Are “reasonable people” citizens with ideals similar to Thompson, and “ideologues” people opposed to a North American Union, such as Fogal, and Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, meaning there can never be a “reasoned debate?” What does Thompson mean by a “hybrid” flag? The countries in the European Union still have their flags. There is still a British Parliament, as there is a United States Congress, but they “rubber-stamp” what central planners in Brussels direct them to, as citizens have methodically lost their representation.

Fogal: “In recognition of our sovereign democratic rights and powers promulgated by the respective founding fathers of three nations, the Canadian Action Party calls upon all Canadians to join with our neighbors in the USA and Mexico to stand and defend our distinctive nations not to call for debate and discussion on integration. We must demand sovereignty and independence, we must make a sound and sight so that uninformed citizens can be alerted.”

Fogal is scheduled to speak in Sonoma State University’s seminar series Sept. 11, 7-10 p.m. For information, call 664-3160.

" Last Thursday I met with the Director of “Project Censored”, Peter Phillips, Ph. D., who is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University.

He explained how anyone can send an article to the “Project Censored” website, and how ten students are assigned the job of reading through magazines and newspapers, and choosing articles, which they believe are important. Phillips and the “Project Censored” staff reviews the emailed articles, articles they find themselves, and those chosen by the students, to decide if the articles have been, more or less censored by the mainstream media, and if they are important enough to be further researched. Once the staff approves an article, they have Sonoma State University professors review it further. If the professors decide the article merits further research then the “Project Censored” staff continues with their investigation of the article.

The author of an approved article is asked to send updated information (and articles) pertaining to the researched article, so that the “Project Censored” staff understands the story further, and that they can see that the author is a thorough researcher. The authors of the top ten stories are asked to speak at the University in the “Project Censored” seminar series in the fall.

Every year the “Project Censored” puts out a book, which includes their list of the 25 most censored stories, which include articles from March to March of the previous year, The current book they are working on, “Censored 2009”, will include articles from March 2007-March 2008. Peter gave me their top ten articles for “Censored 2009” (book is still in the workings), with their top article regarding the approximately one million Iraqis that have died since the war started, and the second being about the Security Prosperity Partnership. " Well breakout the snowmobile...hell has just frozen over and I actually AGREE with Sen Mike Thompson....

What is scary, is that these Area 51 folks actually seem to believe these conspiracy theories. even gave then the benefit of the doubt and spent, oh about 10 minutes, checking the "facts" as presented in the above article.

No "North American Union" no Super-highway, no "Amero"....nada. Don't believ me, look it up for yourself at:

(a .gov site which SHOULD pass the censors that Eggers should REAlly be concerned about...) "

" Google Dr. Daneen Pterson and check out her website. There was a link there to the web page of the Canadian Prime Minister confirming the creation of the NAU.

First Europe, the Mediterranian Union is now in its begining stages...It does not seem so far fetched.

New World Order anyone. Ha, and they want to take our guns away, imagine that. "

" Um, there already is a rather large highway from Mexico to Canada, it's called I-5.

I know this is an opinion piece and everything, but don't you need to cite at least one fact to get an Op-Ed in the paper? If I write an Op-Ed stating that top government officials are holding secret meetings discussing whether to make a mutant squirrel army, and then get someone to "investigate" it further, will you print it?

Let me know, because the squirrels are coming!!! "

nightwatchman wrote on Jul 21, 2008 3:23 PM:

" Case in point, check the front page right now-- one of my mutant squirrels started a brush fire.

I am developing squirrels that have Human Touch-like abilities, and they are going to take over our country! Let me get some college kids to investigate and then I'll get an Op-Ed in the paper! Get Napa Valley College on the phone! "

" To paraphrase: 'On the internet, no one knows you're really a squirrel.'

So it's true, the squirrels really are making a hostile takeover bid. And here I always thought it would be the pigs (Animal Farm). "

" Do you consider Vicente Fox, former President of Mexico, to be a squirrel? In his own words, “Eventually our long-range objective is to establish with the United States, but also with Canada, our other regional partner, an ensemble of connections and institutions similar to those created by the European Union.” Call it what you like, but "North American Union" looks like a pretty good description to me. "

nightwatchman wrote on Jul 22, 2008 7:30 AM:

" Yes, I consider Vicente Fox's current influence on US policy to be about as much as a mutant squirrel. I'm sure lots of poorer countries would love to have a EU-like partnership and partake in the mother's milk of US economic might, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen. There's nothing in it for us.

Thompson is right, there are plenty of real problems to deal with in this country right now-- I can't believe that the xenophobes have to make up something to be angry about. I've never once heard anyone in this country even make a head fake towards advocating for this ridiculous idea.

Long live the mutant squirrel army. "
