Two Napa teens are under arrest in Sonoma County on suspicion of armed robbery in Sonoma.

Nineteen-year-old Ramon Llamas and a 16-year-old juvenile male, were arrested Friday after a chase on Highway 12 near Glen Ellen, police said Saturday.
At about 4 p.m. Friday, two men armed with handguns robbed $100 from three victims at a recycling center behind Safeway on West Napa Street in Sonoma, Sonoma Police Department Sgt. Dave Thompson said Saturday.

The suspects fled northbound on 5th St. West in a sports car with its rear license plate bent upward to cover their tracks, as Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies and a Sonoma County Sheriff’s helicopter started the search for them.
About 30 minutes later, a resident in the nearby community of Agua Caliente spotted the two male suspects hiding in a black Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The resident spooked them and the suspects left, Thompson said.
About 10 minutes later, a Sonoma Sheriff’s Deputy located the car outside Glen Ellen and a short pursuit ensued, with the suspects speeding up to 80 miles-per-hour on Highway 12.

The chase ended two minutes later after a 9mm pistol was thrown out of the car, Thompson said. They were arrested without incident.

Llamas, the driver, was booked at the Sonoma County Jail in Santa Rosa and the juvenile, his passenger, at Juvenile Hall, police said.

Armed robberies are very rare in Sonoma, Thompson said.

" Their photographs should be on the front page of our local newspaper to protect business owners in Napa. Why do the rights of these criminal's outweigh the publics right to safety? "

" can't put a photograph of a minor unless you have the parents permission and I really don't think they are going to do so. "

" true minors are protected by certain laws, but this really should be changed, they dont have permission to break the law so all bets should be off, boys, get a job,you are young, you still have a shot. "

" Pursuant to the California Penal Code, minors can not be publicly identified, so the info regarding the 16-year-old will not be provided. "

" Hey napavalleyman... Ever heard of “Innocent Until Proven Guilty”? Just because the paper report this doesn't make is so. They have the right to their day in court. It’s ashame you didn't attend Government in High School. As usual, another bigot living in Napa. "

" Oh my heavens, crime committed against another town by Napa Citizens?
Gosh thats hard to believe... Oh, thought you readers might like to know that last week a man and woman were arrested on Mare Island for breaking into a building and stripping out the copper. They may be connected to other such thefts in Vallejo, which have now cost the city over $50,000... The Napa citizen who is the "snatch and grab" robber of open cash registers was also arrested by Vallejo Police a few weeks ago, hiding out... "

" We'll know that we have a high crime rate when they stop reporting every crime in the paper including armed robberies. "
