Napa Valley Girls Fastpitch Softball: Bicycle Works defeats MIV

Winning pitcher Lucinda Knudson helped her cause with two hits as Bicycle Works won Wednesday night’s Senior Division playoff game at Napa Kiwanis Park. Maria O’Byrne added two hits and a pair of RBIs, and Nicole Beltran also had two hits in the game, which was decided by the international tiebreaker. Jessica Brady took the pitching loss for MIV.

Track and Field: Vintage senior-to-be qualifies for Junior Olympics

Vintage High senior-to-be Lonnie Handy finished second in the Young Men’s Pole Vault with a mark of 12 feet, 6 inches at the AAU West Coast Junior Olympics in Reno last weekend. Winner Doug Delporto, of the Reno Tahoe A team,, leaped 13 feet.
